COLOUR PALETTE and STYLE : rustic, native flowers with an emphasis on reds VENUE: Newport Substation PHOTOGRAPHER: Passion8 TESTIMONIAL: "One of my favourite things about our wedding day was our stunning flowers. I can't thank Laine enough for her amazing work. The native flowers were just beautiful and she was also able to add some hydrangea, my favourite flower, into my bouquet even though they were technically out of season." - Bianca Click "read more" below for the full article and to see more stunning images of the day. Bianca and Jay were married on 27 October 2019 at the uber cool Newport Substation underneath soaring ceilings and in front of enormous windows. Such a striking space needed striking flowers. Bianca and Jay are not afraid of colour - the bride wore canary yellow heels - so together we chose boldly coloured natives to compliment their venue and style.
Bianca's bouquet was an unstructured round beauty featuring waratah, leucadendron and the first hydrangea of the season. Her bridesmaids carried smaller more vividly coloured bouquets with the most amazing dark pink king proteas we have ever seen. Jay and his groomsmen wore buttonholes that were mismatched, but coordinating, and featured waxflower, strawflower and native foliage. Jay is a chef and undertook both the cooking and styling of their grazing style reception. We made metres upon metres of native foliage and flora garlands to adorn long tables, and sourced interesting pieces of wood, rustic vases and tea lights. From there Jay styled his tablescape to beautiful effect and then ran off to get changed for the wedding. We loved working with this beautiful couple.
